All natural hair color for salon results at home? Sign me up. A couple of weeks ago I saw an ad for Madison Reed hair color on Facebook. Normally, I skim past those with some apprehension, even though a bit of interest. This one just jumped out though. All natural hair color in a kit to arrive at your home, based on your color and needs and with the help of a stylist. As one who used to use other at home mail order salon quality kits, I was very intrigued.
So, I visited the site and also researched other review sites. Plus, I had to admit, I really loved the suggested colors that popped up for me. Also, with adding to my list of more and more natural products and altering specific lifestyle traits in an effort to look at expanding our family, I read a bit more and decided to give it a try.
For roughly $19.99 plus shipping and handling, my full kit was sent to me, arriving in 3 to 5 business days. I was excited to give it a go. Inside my box was barrier cream for preventing my skin being dyed, a cleansing wipe just in case, the developer, the color itself, two pairs of gloves, a cap, a small bottle of shampoo and conditioner, and a sample of their finishing product available called “Tame.” I followed the included instructions and already could tell I loved the smell much better on my head.
45 minutes later, I had rinsed and began the blow dry treatment. I must say I loved it. My hair was in much better condition than before I colored and really the best it looked coloring it ever. Not to mention my color was much more attractive on me, not brassy in its redder tones. My husband stated he loved it. He’d picked out my last two store bought boxes and shared it seemed a little fake red, almost purple. However, the Madison Reed all natural was not at all fake looking. One thing as a definite plus too was that I received more compliments on my hair than I had in ages. In fact, people were seeming to suddenly notice my haircut after 3 months. Even the shine was strong and steady.
Here it is after several washes and I’ve noticed it’s held up far more than anticipated. I’m quite impressed!
